This produces an austenitic -ferritic weld metal with high resistance to hot cracking. It is primarily intended for joining dissimilar stainless steels, e.g., with unalloyed (low- and high-carbon), low-alloy steels, or for joining ferritic, ferritic -martensitic, ferritic-austenitic, tool, spring, high-manganese (13-14% Mn) steels – abrasion-resistant, heat-resistant, etc. Also used for buffer layers prior to hard-alloy surfacing.
