The Safeprotex Vermiculite-Coated Fiberglass Welding Blanket is made from vermiculite-coated fiberglass fabric, where the vermiculite coating forms a protective layer on the fiberglass surface. This advanced coating technology allows welding blanket to endure fixed working temperatures up to 810°C (1490°F) and maximum instantaneous temperatures up to 1090°C (1994°F). Vermiculite Coating is derived from natural mineral sources and is widely used in high-temperature industrial environments. Its unique properties provide the following benefits: Enhanced Heat Resistance: Withstands continuous high temperatures up to 810°C (1490°F) and absorbs and reflects heat energy, shielding the substrate from thermal shock and molten metal splashes. Excellent Thermal Shock Stability: Maintains performance under rapid temperature changes, offering superior protection. Improved Mechanical Strength: Increases abrasion resistance, tear resistance, and overall durability, making it ideal for harsh industrial conditions. Surface Hardness: High surface rigidity ensures the coating resists peeling or wear, even under extreme temperatures. Certifications and Standards: The Safeprotex Vermiculite Welding Blanket is manufactured in compliance with NRC Guide 1.36, Military Specification MIL-I-24244, and ASTM E84 standards. It is ANSI/FM 4950 approved for use as welding curtains and construction fire insulation, and it meets the BS 476 vertical fire testing standard for building safety.
