Harding's fully enclosed lifeboats are designed and tested in accordance with the latest SOLAS/IMO regulations (MED 96/98 EC). Two versions are available: tanker or dry cargo. All boats feature European standard equipment, engines made by BUKH, the world's largest manufacturer of lifeboat engines, and a DEFA electrical charging system. The galvanized steel is AISI 304 or AISI 316, depending on the equipment's exposure. Bureau Veritas certification is optional. Harding lifeboats are certified according to the latest provisions of the IDS Code, as amended, with new hooks approved according to resolutions MSC.320(89) and MSC.321(89). Harding's unique fully enclosed davit concept has set a new standard in safety, low installation cost, and reduced maintenance. The integration of high-efficiency electrical and hydraulic systems within the davit structure provides optimal protection against wear. The fully enclosed davit is designed for long-term, reliable operation in rough and hazardous seas and offshore environments. The enclosed design is also ideal for operation in very cold weather. This davit system is designed in accordance with the latest SOLAS/IMO requirements, the European Marine Equipment Directive 96/98 (MED), and the LSA Code. The carefully considered and innovative design of the NPD system is advantageous when it comes to maintenance and service, installation, and preparing the deck for heating in very cold climates. The lifeboat is launched either from inside the boat or using the remote control supplied as standard. Lifeboat recovery is performed using an electric/hydraulic winch.
