ic-bipolar head
The implantcast range of ic-bipolar heads has been designed for use in hemiarthroplasty procedures - especially for femoral neck fractures. The outer shell of the bipolar component is highly polished and acts as a bearing surface which articulates directly with the native acetabulum. All sizes are pre-assembled with a polyethylene insert and a fastening ring. The larger sizes of the ic-bipolar head range can be combined with any of the 28mm ic-heads but the smallest (i.e. 38 to 41mm) options can only be used with an ic-head which is 22mm in diameter.

AIDA® short stem
The AIDA® short stem is designed to provide metaphyseal-only cementless anchorage within the spongiosa of the proximal femur. It is proximally supported at the calcar as well as laterally via the distal tip. Axial and rotational stability also arise from the tapered and trapezoidal cross-sectional geometries. The prosthesis has a circumferential proximal microporous coating, consisting of commercially pure titanium (cpTi) and hydroxyapatite (HA), proximally for secondary osseointegration. The AIDA® short stem is highly polished distally, hence load transmission can only occur in the proximal area as no fixation can occur distally. Studies on the primary stability of the AIDA® hip stem (size 1 standard and size 1 lateralised) demonstrated that the majority of micro-movement was, according to the literature, within the acceptable limits for secondary fixation / bone ingrowth to occur. In those areas where the most micro-motion was observed, problems of ingrowth rarely occur in practice. The distribution of load in both the standard and lateralised version of the stem does not give cause for concern with regards to local failure of the supporting bone. Additional finite element analysis (FEA) confirmed the AIDA® system's excellent fixation properties - which fully meet the requirements of a modern short stem system.

TARIC® Total Ankle System
The TARIC® implant is designed as a ‘mobile bearing’ prosthesis for cementless replacement of the upper ankle joint. The associated instrumentation enables precise tibial and talar preparation with minimal bone loss.

AGILON® Trauma prosthesis
The AGILON® modular shoulder system offers the surgeon great flexibility via an extensive range of modular components and has been designed for reconstruction following 3-fragment to 4-fragment fracture of the humeral head as well as arthritic scenarios. It is possible to change from the anatomic replacement option to the inverse option intraoperatively while leaving the bone anchoring components (i.e. the humeral stem and the glenoid) in place. With the help of extension pieces the proximal length of the implant can be extended from 5mm to 17.5 mm in steps of 2.5 mm. Because the diaphyseal stem and metaphyseal component are modular retroversion can be adjusted and securely fixed via the toothed connections. The humeral caps feature eccentricity and come in a range of heights as well as a range of diameters which allows fine tuning of the medio-lateral offset. Primary fixation of the cementless glenoid is augmented by locking screws. The inverse option utilises a polyethylene (PE) glenosphere and a thin metal humeral cap which reduces the risk of scapula impingement and hence increases the available range of motion. Additionally cuff tear arthropathy (CTA) caps are also available in a range of diameters and heights. Retentive inverse caps as well as cemented PE glenoids complete the system.

EcoFit® cup
In order to minimise the micro movement that can cause polyethylene (PE) wear at the metal shell - PE liner interface, a special locking mechanism has been developed. This allows the use of a BIOLOX® delta ceramic insert or a PE insert with the same cup design. The PE inserts are sterilised with ethylene oxide gas to prevent oxidative pre-degradation of the material. Alternatively PE inserts made of implacross® crosslinked polyethylene are available which demonstrated improved wear characteristics during preclinical tests. EcoFit® cups have a central hole, in the acetabular base, for attaching the introducer for secure and controlled implant impaction. Once the cup is seated this central hole can be covered with a central screw plug. The EcoFit® cup also has three pre-plugged holes which can be removed, even when the cup is in-situ, for the insertion of supplementary cancellous screws to enhance primary stability (if required). These screws can be angled up to 15°. The EcoFit® NH cup is also available which doesn’t have any screw holes – only the refillable impaction hole. All versions are available with all coating options. A 32mm articulation is possible with a 46mm diameter cup and a 36mm articulation is possible with a 50mm cup. This applies to implacross® and to BIOLOX® delta liners. In addition to polyethylene and ceramic inserts the EcoFit® insert consisting of CoCrMo is also available. Together with the PE heads of the EcoFit® 2M system it enables a tripolar treatment from size 50mm.

ic straight stem
The cemented ic straight hip stem range is designed for primary arthroplasty and is available as a standard offset option and a lateralised offset option - each with a CCD angle of 135°. The universal instrument set enables a seamless intraoperative change from the standard version to the lateralised version or vice versa. Two surface-blasted finishes, which increase the surface area for maximising cement fixation, are available: Due to its fine structuring Type II has an increased implant surface and thus allows for an optimized anchorange with bone cement. The ic-straight stem type I, which features only one groove, is also available as a highly polished version or with TiN coating.

ECOFIT® short stem
In addition to the primary hip stems the ECOFIT® hip system also offers the option of a short stem system. Both standard offset short stems and lateralised offset short stems are available as a cementless fixation option. The modular instrument platform provides the flexibility to intraoperatively adapt the surgery to meet the requirements of the individual patient. All ECOFIT® short stems have a CCD-angle of 133°. The ECOFIT® short stems are made of implatan® titanium alloy (TiAl6V4) and are available with an implaFix® (commercially pure titanium / cpTi) proximal coating or with a (i.e. cpTi plus hydroxyapatite / HA) proximal coating. Product details Indications: non-inflammatory degenerative joint diseases including osteoarthritis and avascular necrosis post-traumatic osteoarthritis fractures rheumatoid arthritis Materials: implatan®; TiAl6V4 according to ISO 5832-3 Product range: 10 sizes standard 10 sizes lateralized Coating: cementless: proximal implaFix® cpTi-coating cementless HA: proximal implaFix® Duo; cpTi- and HA-coating according to ISO 13779-2

ECOFIT® hip stem
The ECOFIT® total hip system includes a complete variety of cementless and cemented hip stems for primary arthroplasty. Both standard offset stems and lateralised offset stems are available in cementless fixation or cemented options. The choice of the implant material for any given mode of fixation has been optimized based on the available clinical data. These features in conjunction with the modular instrument platform provide the flexibility to intraoperatively adapt the surgery to meet the requirements of the individual patient. All ECOFIT® stems have a CCD-angle of 138° or 133°. An additional coxa vara version, with a CCD angle of 123°, is also available. The cementless ECOFIT® stems are made of implatan® titanium alloy (TiAl6V4) and are available with an implaFix® (commercially pure titanium / cpTi) proximal coating or with a (i.e. cpTi plus hydroxyapatite / HA) proximal coating. The cemented ECOFIT® stems are made of implavit® cobalt chromium molybdenum alloy (CoCrMo) in either a highly-polished finish, a matt finish or a matt finish with titanium nitride (TiN) coating – the latter being particularly suitable for patients with metal sensitivity.
